How do you play with the VIRTUAL CATCHER?  The virtual catcher is a wireless sensor screen of a real live catcher image setting up his mitt for a pitch.  The catcher will move his mitt in different locations to help the pitcher learn how to spot pitches.  You don’t always want to throw strikes right over the middle of home plate; you want to learn how to locate certain pitches.  Once a pitch is thrown at the image, it will send a signal back to the computer (located behind the pitcher) of the speed and location of the pitch.  The speed will be posted, but the accuracy is what matters.  It will tell you have far, in inches; the pitch was away from the center of the mitt.  It will track the 15 pitch inning for an overall score.  The better the accuracy, the less runs are scored.  All 9 innings (135 pitches) from the three pitchers are totaled up for an overall score.  For Example:  Team #1 had an accuracy rating of 85%, giving up 9 runs total.  There will be a chart posted that shows the runs allowed compared to the accuracy rating.

Pitching Leagues will be formed from 3 player teams.  Each team will have 3 players of any age.  For Example:  3 kids that are all playing in the 10yr old age group, or 3 players that are all different age.  Each league will have 5 teams per league.  Each team will play each other in a round robin format for a 4 wk period.  Trophies will be given to the overall winner of that league.

Each team will have 3 team members.  Each team member will pitch 3 innings each for a nine inning game.  Each innings consists of 15 pitches.  For Example:  Team member #1 will pitch the 1st inning, 4th inning, 7th inning.  Team member #2 will pitch the 2nd inning, 5th inning, 8th inning.  Team member #3 will pitch the 3rd inning, 6th inning, 9th inning.

Each nine inning pitching game will last approximately 30 minutes.  You will pitch one game per week for 4 weeks.  The team you are playing that week doesn’t have to pitch on the same day, just the same week.  Each 5 team league will stand alone.
