My name is Phillip Thomas.

I am a 40 year old native East Texan.  I graduated from Hooks High School in 1987 with Baseball Awards on a Class AAA state runner-up team. 

Dallas Baptist University was the college of choice to continue my baseball career.  Our team went to three NAIA College World Series appearances in four years.  I was blessed with great teammates and great coaches to help me win numerous awards and achievements while at DBU including being named to the All-World Series team as a shortstop.  I graduated from Dallas Baptist University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.

I signed a free agent contract with the Florida Marlins Professional Baseball Organization in 1992.  Returning to Dallas in 1995, I began working with kids and teams in 1995 at an Indoor Baseball Facility in Ft. Worth.

I've had training from some of the best in MLB baseball.  From playing and learning from the  Marlins to visiting with the Texas Rangers hitting instructor Rudy Jaramillo, I've learned from some of the best in MLB.  

I have lived in Longview, Texas since 1997.  I have been doing private hitting and fielding lessons for the past 15 years.  I have had over 1000 kids come through for private lessons over the years.  I also do summer camps in Longview with over 350 kids attending each year.

I am a partner with Pineywoods Baseball helping bring tournament baseball to Longview, Texas.  Go to www.pineywoodsbaseball.com for tournament schedule.

I've recently signed on with the University of Texas at Austin to help instruct at certain baseball camps throughout the year.

I have a wife of 16 years, Susan, and three kids, Trevor 14, Bryton 12 and Kensington 9.
